Alianza de la Comunidad - $25,000  

Grant supports the continuation of parenting classes and workshops to Hispanic
  parents living in Howard County, in order to strengthen their parenting skills and empower them to become advocates
  for themselves and their children.  They use a program called Active Parenting, which has created materials specific
  to Spanish speakers.Funding to provide additional laptops, printers and other peripherals for AARP Tax Aide volunteers to provide tax services to the low income families involved in the Community Action Council’s financial counseling classes.  They will provide two volunteer counselors one day a week at the County’s Gateway Building to work with 8-10 families each day.
