Capacity building grants
are initiated by The Horizon
Foundation and seek to expand an existing
organization's capabilities
to address critical health concerns. Grant
awards may fund specific
administrative costs, improvement of internal
management capacity,
development or improvement of new functions,
and expansion of services
to meet a greater need. Examples include
expansion of the Health
Alliance's free clinic to provide health care
to individuals with limited access to medical
care, the Coalition of
Geriatric Services (COGS) to stabilize
operations and increase
activities, and the Foreign-born Information
and Referral Network
(FIRN) to address the access to health care for
the immigrant
population.
Application Process
Proposals are solicited by The Horizon
Foundation and may be submitted
at any time during the year in
cooperation with Foundation staff.
