Child and Adolescent Health
The Foundation's commitment to child and adolescent health issues is the Howard County CONNECTIONS Initiative.
Howard County CONNECTIONS Initiative ('CONNECTIONS') is a ground-breaking initiative based in Howard County that seeks to motivate all county residents - 250,000 children, teens, adults, and seniors - to take part in weaving a new, stronger, more resilient social fabric.
It's an ambitious goal. We want to inspire every person and every sector of the community - neighborhoods, congregations, government agencies, schools, civic organizations - to find new ways to bolster their relationships with children and teens. Once CONNECTIONS is firmly established in the hearts and minds of our communities, we think Howard County will become the best place for children, and adults, to live and grow.
This is the vision of the Horizon Foundation, Howard County's largest philanthropic organization; and Search InstituteSM, a nonprofit with more than 45 years of experience conducting research and sharing practical knowledge that aims to better the lives of children and teens.
