On the Horizon Addresses Health and Community Issues
The Horizon Foundation believes that outreach to the community and its many constituencies is a vital aspect of its work. This includes providing selected information on health and wellness issues to the general public. One way of reaching people is through television.

On the Horizon, a monthly program examining health and community issues, has been airing since 2001 on GTV, the county government's cable channel. The program is conducted as a series of half-hour "conversations," hosted by Richard M. Krieg, president & CEO of The Horizon Foundation and typically featuring three guests.
During 2003, topics of discussion included leadership programs, building resilient kids, fighting obesity, smoking and youth, heart disease, teens on growing up in Howard County, developmental disabilities and other issues.
On the Horizon guests range from health and other professionals, public officials, directors of nonprofit organizations, community leaders and involved citizens.
Over the course of the year, On the Horizon offers a window into community life in Howard County, revealing the efforts of individuals and organizations to respond to the needs and dreams of the community.
