Uniting People and Institutions for Children
In
November of 2004, The
Horizon
Foundation hosted "Assets in
Motion" to publicly launch
Connections, its initiative that
seeks to unleash and unite the
people, institutions and
communities of Howard County to provide
all young people with the
Developmental Assets known to prevent
high-risk behaviors and to promote
thriving and health.
An overflow crowd listened attentively to Search Institute President Peter Benson discuss the building blocks of healthy development and how everyone in communities can make a positive difference in the lives of children, youth, families and communities.
Parents, educators, religious leaders, businesspeople and other members of the community, including many students, participated.
