CERN Urges Community To Be Responsible...Be Ready
The
Community Emergency Response
Network (CERN) held its 2005 Annual
Retreat, "Be Responsible... Be
Ready" on May 9.
The keynote speakers were Joseph
Herr, Chief of Howard County Fire
and Rescue, and Horizon President
& CEO Richard M. Krieg, who
is Chairman of CERN.
A wide assortment of community leaders attended from government, education, business and local nonprofits. Breakout sessions focused on Public Information Planning, Identifying School Risks, Building Community Resilience, Citizen Responsibility and Education and Awareness efforts about Emergency Disaster Planning.
