Development Council
The Nonprofit
Resource Development Council is the product of
a strategic partnership between the
Horizon Foundation and the Association of
Community Services, and is
also strongly supported by Howard County
government. It is embodied in
the strategic plans of the Foundation and
Association and includes in
its membership all of the local nonprofit
funders. Horizon Foundation President Richard
Krieg and ACS Executive Director Anne Towne are
the Council's co-chairs. The Council’s 12
members will be a collaborative effort designed
to ensure the long-term health and resilience

The following document
outlines the Operational Framework for the
Nonprofit Resource Development Council’s
(NRDC) operations, including initiatives it
might design and implement. It includes
identification of the Council’s goals, a
specific set of strategies to achieve those
goals, the roles of the Council, and
recommended initial steps. More information on

Financial Resiliency Conference
Over 200 representatives of local nonprofits attended the Financial Resiliency for Nonprofits Conference on July 20, 2010 at Ten Oaks Conference Center in Clarksville, MD. Hosted by the Nonprofit Resource Development Council (NRDC), the conference featured economic forecasts, discussion of board roles and responsibilities and a hands-on session focusing on increasing revenues. Opening the conference was Rich Krieg, President & CEO of the Horizon Foundation and co-chair of NRDC.
