
Charlene Connolly Quinn
is Assistant Professor in Gerontology at the
University of Maryland School of Medicine where
she oversees research and education programs in
geriatrics and public policy, costs, and
organization of health services. Dr. Quinn is
also currently the Director of the Aging
Program for the Master's in Public Health in
the School of Medicine. She is a frequent
speaker and author on the health care of older
adults. As a researcher, she is funded be
the National Institute on Aging to study
depression among older adults. Recently
initiated by Dr. Quinn is a consortium of state
of Maryland, technology and health care company
funds to study the effectiveness of older
adults’ use of technology to assist in
management of their diabetes.
Dr. Quinn
is a former White House Fellow and has over 25
years of medical and health care policy
experience, including, senior management of a
$14 billion managed care program for Medicare
beneficiaries.
She is a graduate
of Duke University School of Nursing and
received her doctorate from the Johns Hopkins
University School of Public Health. Dr.
Quinn is an advisor to public and private
companies providing health and long term care
services to older adults.
