Study Looks at Challenges Posed by Immigration

Saturday, October 1, 2005

(The Business Monthly) -- Howard County has become a hot spot for immigrants, whose integration brings new challenges for the public and private sectors, according to a study released this week. The study paints a positive picture of immigrant life in Howard County, while identifying some areas in need of improvement, said Roy Appletree, the executive director of FIRN, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting the county's foreign-born residents. The study was partially funded by The Horizon Foundation.
