Family Health Expo Scheduled for April 1 at School

(The Sun in Howard) -- Murray Hill Middle School and the Howard County Health Department will present the fourth Family Health Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 1 at the school.

The event is designed to provide residents of North Laurel and Savage with access to Howard County health and human service providers.  The Health Expo will offer free blood pressure, dental, vision and hearing screenings, as well as testing for diabetes, HIV and breast health.  Representatives from the Health Department's education programs will be available to answer questions.

Participating will be the Domestic Violence Center, Family and Children's Services of Central Maryland, the Foreign-born Information and Referral Network, Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, Howard County General Hospital, the Howard County Office on Aging, the STTAR Center and others.  Local groups serving non-English-speaking residents will also be on hand.

The Balloon Man and a disc jockey will entertain children.  Free box lunches will be provided, and door prizes and give-aways are planned.

Admission is free.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Murray Hill Middle School is at 9989 Winter Sun Road.
