The Horizon Foundation Establishes Executive Advisory Board
Sunday, October 1, 2006
(The Business Monthly) --
Modeled after national philanthropies, The
Horizon Foundation has
established an 18-person Executive Advisory
Board composed of the
topmost leaders of major community systems. The
board, which will meet
three times a year, is chaired by Beverly
Wilhide, former director of
public affairs of Comcast's Atlantic
Division.
Foundation President and CEO Richard Krieg
said, "This high-level group
will assist us in linking our work with major
community systems. Over
the next few years, we will concentrate on
programs to improve the
wellness and health of children."
For example, Krieg mentioned the foundation's
Connections Initiative,
which now operates in 28 public schools and 12
congregations, and is
being integrated with the county's Human
Services Master Plan.
"In addition to adult leaders, we're delighted
that this board includes
two youth members," said Krieg. "They are full
members of the group
with no distinction made because of age. In its
entirety, the Executive
Advisory Board will be a great braintrust for
the foundation as we
shape our major programs."
