Chase Brexton opens third site in Md.
Friday, September 22, 2006
(The Sun in Howard) --
Chase Brexton Health
Services Inc. opened its third Maryland site
Monday at 5500 Knoll North
Drive
in Oakland Mills village.
The
Columbia center received funding from the
Horizon
Foundation to assess the community's need for
affordable health care and
determined, through a study conducted by
Maryland Community Health System (of
which Chase Brexton is a founding member) that
a need existed. With help from
Horizon, Chase Brexton has extended its
services into Howard County.
The new
center will provide insured, uninsured and
underinsured children and adults with primary
and preventive care, as well as
mental health and case management
services.
Eventually, it will be the first Chase
Brexton location to offer
consultations in integrative medicine,
combining conventional and complementary
therapies. Dental
care, substance-abuse
services and an on-site pharmacy are also
planned.
Fees are
on a sliding scale, and help is available with
state and federal assistance programs.
Medicare and Medicaid patients are
served.
The
nonprofit organization also has offices in
Baltimore and in
Randallstown,
a center that opened this year.
