Krieg To Chair Baltimore Area Health Funders Group

Richard Krieg, President and CEO of The Horizon Foundation, will chair a group of philanthropies that fund health programs in the Baltimore metropolitan area. Operating under the Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers (ABAG), the group includes a number of foundations including the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the Abell Foundation, the Erickson Foundation and many others.
Called the Health Funder's Affinity Group, the new committee will meet on an ongoing basis to discuss health issues of concern to philanthropies in the region. The Committee's goals include facilitating meaningful dialogue between philanthropies interested in health issues with experts in the region and across the country. Substantive issues to be addressed include older adult health, community emergency response, access to care, hospitals and health centers and other topics.
The group recently hosted Dean Michael Klag, MD, MPH, of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Dean Glenn Morris, MD, MPH, of the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Public Health.
