Horizon Foundation Announces Hiring of Jacquelyn Ring as Senior Program Officer

The Horizon Foundation has announced that it has hired Jacquelyn M. Ring as Senior Program Officer.
Ms. Ring formerly was Deputy Executive Director at The Arc of Howard County, where she has worked since 1975. Her career there included serving as Director of Special Programs and Director of Residential Programs. She is widely credited as a prime mover in transforming The Arc from a small organization to one of the largest, most successful nonprofits in Howard County.
Richard M. Krieg, Horizon Foundation President & CEO said, “We are excited to have Jackie join our staff. She brings a skills set that includes high level program management expertise, in-depth knowledge of the nonprofit community and a passion to help those who are underserved.” Krieg added that Ms. Ring has been an active member of the Ellicott City Horizon Council. The group, one of four community councils established by the Foundation, advises the philanthropy on issues and projects within its geographic area.
As Senior Program Officer, Ms. Ring will oversee the Foundation’s grantmaking programs and will also be involved in implementing Foundation initiatives in the community.
Ms. Ring holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Maryland in College Park and a Masters in Social Work degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Among other honors, she was named to Maryland’s Top 100 Women in 2004 by the Baltimore Daily Record. She and husband Michael Ring live in Ellicott City and have two grown daughters, Caitlin and Melissa.
