Ulman to Announce Collaboration to Better Serve the Nonprofit Sector
Wednesday, September 16, 2009 Tweet
ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County
Executive Ken Ulman made an announcement
regarding a new collaborative effort to ensure
the long-term health and resiliency of local
nonprofit organizations.
This
effort will build on two earlier projects: 1)
the Capacity Building Initiative developed by
the Department of Citizen Services to enhance
service delivery and strengthen organizational
capacity, and 2) a summit convened by the
Horizon Foundation and the Association of
Community Services (ACS) on organizational
survival strategies in the lean years. As
the country's economic woes continue, proactive
support to make certain that nonprofits have
the resources they need to continue providing
critical services to the community is more
important than ever.
