Howard County Bikeshare, powered by the Horizon Foundation, launched in July 2017 with 70 bikes and seven stations at popular locations across Downtown Columbia. The program, spearheaded by the Howard County Office of Transportation, gives residents, visitors and workers an easy and affordable option to pick up and ride a bike at their convenience.
Stations include the Oakland Mills Village Center, Blandair Park, the Mall at Columbia, the Lakefront at Lake Kittamaqundi, One Merriweather, Howard Community College and Howard County General Hospital. Within the first month, bikeshare users took more than 1,000 trips.
