“This week, County Executive Dr. Calvin Ball announced new initiatives to support renters in Howard County including increasing funding for rental assistance, extending the time period that landlords give for eviction notice, establishing a new one-stop shop and resources to help renters access services, tracking renter data and expanding staffing and collaboration among county agencies. The LIVE initiative brings needed changes for renters and we thank the County Executive for his commitment to improving the quality of homes in Howard County. Our organizations have been working together over the past year to center tenant protections. We believe that this is a positive step forward and a good foundation to build on to strengthen housing opportunities in the future. There is more work to do and we look forward to partnering with the County Executive and the County Council to ensure Howard County is a more livable place for everyone.”
