Our 2025 Grant RFPs are now open!

Now accepting applications!

As we continue to implement our strategic plan, the Horizon Foundation remains committed to partnering with community to drive impact in areas of greatest need. Our work across all our strategic priority areas aims to ensure everyone in Howard County can live abundant and healthy lives. None of these priorities stand alone. They are interconnected and interrelated on every level and working on one inevitably touches each of the others.

We are excited to launch two new grant opportunities to advance our Mental Health and Food Insecurity and Nutrition priorities. See more below. The deadline to submit applications is November 17, 2025 at 11:59:59 p.m.

Mental Health RFP

The Foundation remains committed to strengthening mental health systems in the county. While we continue to invest in services like school based mental health and crisis expansion work, we recognize that our community is facing a moment of deep angst. Mental health challenges and treatments are not experienced in the same way by all residents. There is still a gap in awareness and acceptance of existing and effective services, particularly among certain populations. In the face of budget cuts and funding changes (locally and nationally), it is crucial that we continue to elevate the mental health needs of our children and families to ensure services are sustained.

We expect to fund at least 6 committed organizations between $15,000-$20,000 each to engage partners in deepening community resilience.

Food Insecurity and Nutrition RFP

Food banks and pantries cannot fill the need. Systemic change is needed so that all Howard Countians have access to high quality, affordable, nutritious food. The Healthier Choices Coalition is working to build its power to successfully advocate for policy and system changes that will improve food security, make healthier food and drinks more accessible and reduce diabetes in Howard County. The Foundation is seeking partners to join and participate in the Coalition’s activities, help shape the next set of policy priorities and advocate for change.

We expect to fund at least 5 committed organizations between $15,000-$20,000 each.
