We need your voice! Sign our petition to fix our streets and sidewalks

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many challenges and changes to our lives as individuals and as a community. It’s been a tough year for all of us – but thanks to your support, we have still accomplished a lot in making progress for complete streets in Howard County. Now, we must build on that progress and ensure that we achieve our shared vision of a more walkable, bikeable and accessible Howard County for all of our residents.

On Dec. 9, County Executive Calvin Ball hosted the first residents’ budget hearing for the upcoming FY 2022 budget. The Streets for All Coalition testified in support of funding biking and walking infrastructure projects that will improve public health. Our recovery from the COVID crisis is inextricably linked to public health investments now in order to create a healthier future for Howard County.

We’ve made progress recently, and now is not the time to slow down. We must ensure that our streets, sidewalks, paths and crosswalks are safe and accessible for everyone. Add your name to our petition to show your support for fixing our streets and sidewalks!

Now is the time to invest in infrastructure to make our community more walkable, bikeable and accessible for all!

We must build on our progress for complete streets in Howard County!

The highlight of this year for the Streets for All Coalition was the virtual walk audit in Elkridge we hosted in October. Thank you to all of our partners, walk leaders and everyone who participated. We are so energized and excited for the momentum and the community of advocates we are building to bring better and safer streets, sidewalks, bike lanes, paths, crosswalks and more to everyone in Howard County.

Please check out this video recapping the walk audit, as well as celebrating our successes so far. And, don’t forget you can still virtually “walk” the route and provide your comments using the interactive map on our website.
