Aligning Dollars with our Deepest Values: Our New Approach to Investing. When the Horizon Foundation embarked on its new strategic plan in 2024, we committed to centering equity and anti-racism in all of our work. It was important for us not only to practice that in our programs, grantmaking and policy work, but also to ensure those values were embedded in the internal operations of the organization as well. That means putting our money where our mouth is – literally. A successful first housing forum
We had a packed house at our forum earlier this month to discuss our housing system and how we can improve it here in Howard County and in our state. Thank you so much to Comptroller of Maryland Brooke Lierman and Dan Reed from Greater Greater Washington for leading our discussion, and to all of our local candidates, advocates and community members for joining us. This was the first of several events for candidates and the public that PATH, the Horizon Foundation, Bridges to Housing Stability, the Howard County Housing Affordability Coalition, Columbia Housing Center and others plan to work on over the coming months. Together, we can make Howard County a place where all people can live in vibrant neighborhoods full of opportunity.

We are thrilled to welcome three new members of our Board of Trustees! Please join us in welcoming Dr. Haksoon Ahn, Jordan McKinnie and Shannon McMahon. Each of them bring important skills and expertise to the table and all of them are deeply passionate about making our community a better and healthier place for all people. Congratulations as well to Dr. Yvonne Commodore-Mensah who is ascending to the role of Vice Chair.
